U.P. Wilderness Air Tour
|
The 2006 U.P. Wilderness Tour directors Marcelaine and John Lewis want to thank the CMX family and our local community for their generous support. Airport manager, Dennis Hext and his staff, rolled out the red carpet in the airport hospitality room and on the ramp. The airport committee was well represented by commissioners Paul Luoma and Mike Lahti and other local dignitaries at the presentation. Lt Col Terry Sunnarborg and the AFROTC cadets helped lighten the loads of pilots and passengers getting from the ramp to the ground transportation. The Ojibwa Eagles charter bus was much appreciated by participants traveling to their hotel. Volunteer drivers Eloise Greenlee, Patty Codere, and Jim Janda also drove participants with professionalism and courtesy. Our local sponsors were very generous in extending the hand of hospitality to the 62 airplanes and 125 air tourists: Statewide Real Estate, Keweenaw Gem and Gifts, the Shipping Shop, Agate Beach Aviation, Boreal Aviation, Superior Aviation, Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce, Joey's Seafood, California Connections, Salon by Michelle, and Favorite Silk Screening. Thanks to each of you for helping get the message out that, "If we pave a mile of highway, we can go a mile. But if we pave a mile of runway, we can bring tourism and commerce to our community from any place in the world." |
